Five breaths to begin your morning routine

A simple breathing practice to ground yourself before the day unfolds

Five breaths to begin your morning routine All articles

There is a quiet power in the first few breaths of the day. Before the inbox, before the to-do list, before the world asks anything of you, there is just you and your breath.

Why the morning matters

How we begin tends to set the tone for everything that follows. A frantic start ripples outward into a frantic day. A grounded one does the opposite.

The practice

  1. Sit comfortably, spine tall, shoulders soft.
  2. Inhale slowly through the nose for a count of four.
  3. Pause gently at the top for a count of two.
  4. Exhale for a count of six, letting the body soften.
  5. Repeat for five rounds.
Breathe deep, accept & embrace.

That's it. Five breaths. Notice how the body settles, how the mind quiets just enough to meet the day with intention rather than reaction.

Carry this with you - onto the mat, into a meeting, through a difficult moment. The breath is always there, waiting to bring you home.

With love,

Amber Serene 💜
